Blue Ocean Wireless Solo Round the World Challenge

Tony Bullimore has started final preparations for his attempt to break the 70 day barrier for sailing solo around the world by sailing out of Hobart this week to test new sails and equipment.

Supporter Steve Pike took this picture of Tony’s 102ft catamaran Doha 2006 from his balcony at home overlooking the Derwent and said … “She certainly looked impressive and hope al goes well…”

Tony, too was pleased with the sail. “The big cat is ready and we are hopeful of getting a good break in the weather paterns in the next two weeks that will allow me to set off for Cape Horn.
