After spending two days heading northwards to repair damaged rigging on his 102ft catamaran Doha, British round the world yachtsman Tony Bullimore has resumed an easterly course towards Cape Horn overnight.

In a brief message relayed back to Team Bullimore's Press Office, Tony said that he had now completed the repairs and was continuing in the Blue Ocean Wireless Round the World Challenge.  "We will see how things go over the next 48 hours" He said.

Lee Bruce, Team Bullimore's weather router predicts that the winds will gradually clock and increase to 30-35knot later today. The gusts are expected to peak at 40-45knots through to15:00GMT today.  Squalls will add to the misery. Another surge of N to NNW wind will reach Doha on May 11th, but that will not be as strong, and won't last as long.
